Until Christians remember that loving the foreigner isn’t a political issue but a biblical command.

Until immigrants aren’t retroactively criminalized by laws that keep changing (even after they’ve done everything the legal way).

Until children stop living in terror of sudden separation.

Until the hundreds of thousands of refugees invited by our government and legally resettled here aren't now abandoned.

Until Christians uphold God's call to care for the oppressed as a primary biblical value, fighting for it with the same ferocity and endurance and conviction as they do the other measures on their ballot.

Until language that dehumanizes is no longer allowed to shape policy or conscience or sermon.

Until we show as much compassion, prayer, and generosity to the foreigner next door as we do the foreigner on our missions trip.

Until justice rolls down into our immigration system, upholding people made in the image of God with mercy and righteousness and love.

We will not be satisfied.
